Summary

ProductPortfolio is a web-based framework that can be used to construct a complete Product Portfolio Management solution integrated into the ProductCenter PLM system. The solution provides a stage/gate model that captures key characteristics about new product development projects in order to facilitate senior management decision making.

The framework consists of a collection of web-based forms, worksheets, spreadsheets and project plans wrapped by a portfolio management application and presented via our ProductDashboard interface. ProductPortfolio will capture the following information about each product development project:

• Risk Assessment Worksheet
• Business Opportunity Worksheet
• Business Plan Summary
• Financial and Resource Spreadsheet
• Project Plan Activity Matrix
• Gate Recommendations

In addition, a project summary form is generated to capture and track key statistics, milestones and the overall project status. Our ProductMeeting solution is also provided in the package to assist your gate committee members in managing and reviewing each project at phase/gate transition points.

While the phase/gate model of ProductPortfolio remains constant, every customer will need to have ProductPortfolio forms, worksheets, spreadsheets and project plans tailored for their industry segment and internal engineering standards. This customization effort can be completed in a matter of weeks once the functional specification documents have been finalized and reviewed.
